Planning Manager

Responsibilities:

1▪ Project Planning & Scheduling

Develop, maintain, and oversee detailed project schedules using software like Primavera P6 or MS Project.

Define project scope, work breakdown structure (WBS), and key milestones.

Optimize project timelines while balancing resources, costs, and risks.

2▪ Monitoring & Progress Tracking

Track project progress against baseline schedules and identify potential delays.

Conduct performance analysis (e.g., Earned Value Management) to measure efficiency.

Prepare and present reports on project status, including KPIs and forecasting.

3▪ Resource & Risk Management

Allocate manpower, equipment, and materials efficiently across projects.

Identify, analyze, and mitigate risks that may impact project timelines.

Implement recovery plans for delayed tasks or budget overruns.

4▪ Stakeholder Coordination

Collaborate with project managers, engineers, clients, and contractors.

Ensure alignment of planning activities with contractual obligations.

Conduct regular meetings to review progress, discuss challenges, and update stakeholders.

5▪ Team Leadership & Development

Manage and mentor a team of planning engineers and schedulers.

Provide training on best practices, software tools, and methodologies.

Foster a culture of continuous improvement in planning and scheduling.

6▪ Compliance & Documentation

Ensure adherence to industry standards, contractual requirements, and regulations.

Maintain accurate records of planning and scheduling data for audits and claims.

Support claim analysis and extension-of-time (EOT) submissions when necessary.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management.

Professional certifications such as PMP

  • Experience: From 15-20 years of experience in project planning, with at least 5 years in a managerial level.

 

Technical:

  • Expertise in project scheduling software (Primavera P6, MS Project).
  • Strong understanding of engineering, construction, or infrastructure project lifecycles.
  • Knowledge of planning methodologies
  • Experience in cost control and resource allocation.
