Tendering Manager
Responsibilities:
Tender Management & Coordination
Manage the full tender lifecycle from opportunity identification to bid submission.
Coordinate between technical, commercial, procurement, legal, and finance teams.
Ensure adherence to tender timelines, milestones, and submission requirements.
Act as the single point of accountability for assigned tenders.
Technical & Commercial Review
Review tender documents, drawings, specifications, and BOQs for completeness and risks.
Ensure compliance with client requirements and contractual conditions.
Lead clarification processes with clients and consultants.
Prepare technical and commercial tender queries.
Costing & Estimation Oversight
Oversee cost estimation, value engineering, and pricing strategies.
Validate quantities, productivity rates, material pricing, and subcontractor quotations.
Ensure alignment between estimate, construction methodology, and execution strategy.
Review final tender pricing prior to management approval.
Risk Management & Value Engineering
Identify contractual, technical, and financial risks within tenders.
Propose mitigation plans and commercial qualifications.
Lead value engineering initiatives to enhance competitiveness without compromising quality.
Tender Strategy & Approvals
Develop bid/no-bid recommendations based on strategic fit and risk analysis.
Prepare executive tender summaries for senior management review.
Ensure internal approvals are obtained in accordance with company authority matrix.
Documentation & Submission
Ensure tender submissions are complete, accurate, and professionally presented.
Manage electronic and hard-copy submissions in line with client instructions.
Maintain tender logs, registers, and historical cost databases.
Post-Tender Activities
Participate in post-tender clarifications, negotiations, and value engineering discussions.
Support contract handover to project teams upon award.
Conduct tender performance reviews (win/loss analysis).
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management.
Master’s degree in Engineering Management or MBA is preferred.
Experience:
+15 years of experience in tendering and estimation.
Professional certifications (RICS, PMP, MRICS) are an advantage
Additional Skills & Requirements:
Strong analytical and commercial acumen
Advanced knowledge of construction contracts (FIDIC preferred)
Excellent leadership and coordination skills
High proficiency in estimation software and MS Excel
Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills
Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
